If we are using a windows based system then we generally divided the hard disk into several partition. The primary partition of Hard Drive is used for loading operating system. The other logical partitions are used for store data. The advantage of dividing the hard disk is that if anything wrong happened with the operating system then it does not affect our computer data.
Sometimes when it happens, then operating system does not boot up either because of NTLDR goes missing or Boot.ini got corrupted. To repair the operating system we use Restore CD.
